This position is responsible for
working with t he
Operations Manager to implement fertilization and pest
control programs for turf and ornamental plants. Success in this
position is indicated by yearly renewal of contracts and positive
customer feedback on program results. This position reports to the
Operations Manager of the Division and must cooperate with other
employees to see that the overall goals of the company are met.Preferred Qualifications
- Possess good communication and organization skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated and a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrate skill and ability working with service customers.
- Two years industry experience or two or four year industry related
degree. Additional industry experience or industry certification can
substitute for non-related degree, two-year degree or no degree.
- Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with the ability to
operate a manual transmission vehicle.
- Possess and maintain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator's License.
- Demonstrate and reflect an awareness of environmental and personal
safety.
- Desire to continually grow within the industry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop a clear understanding of the company philosophies and the
short and long term goals.
- Apply fertilizer and pest control products to turfgrass and
landscape ornamentals in a responsible manner.
- Continually gain and exercise knowledge and skill in the
identification of common insects, disease symptoms, and ornamental
trees and shrubs and turfgrass varieties.
- Monitor quality of work and bring issues to the client's
attention.
- Help maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good working
order.
- Develop a good relationship with the client on every job.
- Maintain flexibility in how one contributes to the team effort.
The seasonality of the industry warrants working in other divisions
of the company on a temporary basis.
- Fieldwork includes, but is not limited to, aeration, turfgrass
establishment and over seeding, and fertilization of lawn, trees and
shrubs.
Individuals who take the initiative beyond the basic job will
