Pennsylvania
has adopted additional consumer protection laws beneficial to
homeowners. Contractors performing residential improvements must be
registered with the Pennsylvania Attorney General under Act 132 (Home
Improvement Consumer Protection Act).
Beginning July 1, 2009, consumers will be able to call 1-888-520-6680 or
go online at
attorneygeneral.gov to verify whether a contractor is registered
with the Attorney General’s Office.
